Learning
Year 3 marks the beginning of Key Stage 2 and a new phase of discovery, building on the foundations of Key Stage 1 while developing new skills and interests. Imaginative texts such as Leon and the Place Between, The BFG and Secrets of a Sun King inspire creative writing, while Mathematics strengthens problem-solving and logical thinking. Children investigate rocks, light, plants and forces in Science, explore the Stone Age, Romans and Ancient Egyptians in History, and discover volcanoes and the River Nile in Geography. Creativity thrives in Art, DT and Music, while RE, RHE and PSHE support their spiritual, personal and social growth. Swimming lessons build stamina, local trips enrich learning, and children are encouraged to represent the school in sports and creative events, fostering pride in their achievements and a strong sense of belonging to the wider school community.
