At the end of last term, our whole School community, including Sister Felicity, helped to create a special sunflower mosaic. This was designed by Mr. Keeling, in memory of a very special person, Mrs. Antonia Hewings, who taught Year 2 at St. Winefride’s for twenty years. Sadly, she passed away in the summer of 2022, after retiring in 2019.
She loved musicals, particularly ‘Les Miserables’, making things on her sewing machine and her garden, when she wasn’t doing things with her family. She liked making mosaics and this is why we chose to have one dedicated to her in the Peace Garden, featuring one of her favourite flowers, sunflowers.
