Karate Warriors

During the half term break, some children from St Winefride’s took part in a karate competition at their dojo. Anna has said she will send a photo of Adam and Mark, but here's Cara, Etta, Evie and Juno.
They all did incredibly well and were praised by their sensei and the judges on their behaviour, supportiveness of others and on their whole approach to the competition. They each performed a "kata" and "kumite" (fight) in front of a really large crowd, along with many referees and judges, and they all were so brave to take part.
Their sensei said to me that he wasn't surprised they go to St Winefride’s and that they've done a wonderful job at representing themselves and their school so well!
During the half term, some of our KS1 & KS2 children participated in a karate competition at their dojo. Each child performed a 'kata' and a 'kumite' (fight) in front of a really large crowd, along with many referees and judge. They were incredibly brave to take part and we are all really proud of how they represented themselves and their dedication.

Well done to all the children involved, let's keep the karate in the dojo and not the classroom!
