Peter and The Wolf in The Abbey

This afternoon Year 3 & 4 walked down to the Shrewsbury Abbey to listen to a retelling of 'Peter and The Wolf'. The story was narrated by the excellent Allan Toop and was accompanied by the talented Nigel Pursey, who played the organ! The organ was fascinating, with a whopping 183 keys to play in total and a staggering 2,400 pipes! Nigel used different notes, octaves and motifs to represent the different animals and characters, like the Wolf and Grandad. The children walked down to the Abbey wonderfully, with lots of praise from members of the public. After the narration had finished, the children were invited to play the organ. The gentleman who organised the event had nothing but good things to say about their behaviour and manners.
