This week, we celebrated the Feast Day of St. Winefride. Have you ever wondered who St. Winefride was and why our School carries her name? St. Winefride (also known as St. Winifred) was a 7th-century Welsh saint, remembered for her faith, courage, kindness and devotion to others. Her story has been celebrated for centuries, and her name continues to inspire generations. At St. Winefride’s R. C. Independent School, we are incredibly proud to carry her name and continue the values she represents: kindness, care, respect and unity. Founded in 1868 by the Sisters of Mercy, our School has a wonderful history spanning over 158 years. We are proud of our past, our school family today and all the exciting chapters still to come. 💛🤎 158 years of history, faith, friendship and learning – and many more wonderful years ahead!
