Today, we came together as a school community to celebrate an incredibly special occasion, 100 years of Sir David Attenborough! The children looked absolutely fantastic in their wonderful costumes, arriving dressed as a variety of animals, scientists, and explorers inspired by the natural world and the incredible work of Sir David. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, enthusiasm, and imagination throughout the school. We celebrated the day in many exciting ways, including a whole-school picnic where everyone gathered together to enjoy lunch in the sunshine and share in the celebrations. Throughout the day, children also took part in class activities and quizzes linked to nature, wildlife, and conservation, learning more about the world around us and the importance of protecting it for future generations. A highlight of the day was joining the special live Picture News assembly, where we reflected on the remarkable achievements and lasting impact of Sir David’s work. What a truly wonderful occasion it was for our whole school community to celebrate together. Happy Birthday, David!
