Kindergarten
At St. Winefride's, our Kindergarten classes provide a safe and nurturing environment where children take their first steps towards a lifelong love of learning.
"Since joining St. Winefride's almost 30 years ago, I have created a nurturing learning environment in Kindergarten, where the children flourish and are prepared for starting school."
Learning

From the age of three, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and ensure that each child receives the support and attention they need to succeed. Learning is carefully tailored to each child, with an adaptive and flexible approach that nurtures individual growth. As highlighted in our 2024 ISI Report, “In the early years, children learn in a nurturing environment where lessons are tailored to their individual needs.” We aim to instil a sense of joy in learning, ensuring children feel confident, engaged and eager to take on new challenges.

Beyond the Classroom

A combination of structured activities and free exploration encourages curiosity and creativity, giving our children the confidence they need to succeed. Life in Kindergarten is full of rich experiences that extend well beyond the classroom walls. Children visit our school library, where they begin to develop a love of books and stories. They enjoy performing in school plays, which help to build confidence and teamwork, while trips and outings provide new opportunities to discover the world around them. These experiences ensure every child feels part of something bigger as they grow.
